Fabio started sailing in 1994, in a dam in São Paulo called Guarapiranga. In 1996 he made his first crossing - Madeira Island (Pt) to Recife (Br), 40 days aboard a 37 foot, and at the end he knew he wanted to live aboard. In 2001, already building his own boat, he was on the Antarctic Peninsula aboard Oleg Bele's Kotic II. In December 2003 Planckton was finished, Fabio moved aboard.

Licensed by the Brazilian Navy as Arrais Amateur in 1994, Master in 1996 and Captain in 2002.He was a sailing instructor in BL3 sailing school for 2 years. And a certified dive master since 2005.

Cecilia graduated in nutrition in 1997. She dedicates herself to the study of "good living" (quality of life through balanced diet, physical activity, self-knowledge and spirituality). Her contact with sailing began with windsurfing in Ilhabela in 1994. She is sailing aboard Planckton since 2005.

Aboard Planckton, with more than 30,000 miles sailed, they cruised up and down the Brazilian coast several times. They also participated in some long distance races in Brazil (on the cruisers categories) always taking guests who wanted to experience sailing day and night over the blue sea.

In 2009 they left for a trip across the Atlantic. After going north along the Brazilian coast till Natal, they went to Tobago (Trinidad and Tobago). After five months sailing through the Caribbean they crossed from Saint Martin to the Azores islands, where they stayed three months. On their way back home they visited the Madeira Group, Canary Islands and Cape Verde.
